This 6-week session runs on Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm at Piedmint Environmental Center in the High Point/Jamestown area (1220 Penny Road, High Point, NC 27265-9182). This session will begin October 11th and run through November 15th.

This class is geared toward ages 6-12, letting each child work at their own level. Each week, students will be introduced to the artist of the week by showing some of their work and discussing a bit of their history. They will do a new project each week based on the featured artist's technique, medium, and/or style. These projects are not carried over and work well with shorter attention spans.

This is an experience-based class and not technique driven. It is more about the opportunity to try out a variety of media and style, not necessarily step-by-step directions with all projects looking the same.

Supplies are included in class fee. Minimum of 5 students and maximum of 10.

Dinoworks is a fascinating, educational and fun-filled kit that will show you what it is like to be a paleontologist in the field. This class is geared toward ages 10+ and is great for all experience levels. We will be learning about the elements and principles of design and how they influence our own artwork, as well as others. We will be using a variety of media and learning to interpret the use of the elements and principles. There will be overall guidelines for each project, yet interpretation of these guidelines will provide for the students unique expression to shine through.

Supplies are included in class fee. Minimum of 5 students and maximum of 10.

Cast & Paint kits are fascinating, creative, craft projects for kids of all ages. Great for parents and kids to share. Each project takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete. After casting and painting, the completed kits can be played with or or displayed. This Cast & Paint kit includes everything you need to make your own magical kingdom. This class is geared toward ages 10+ and would be great to even enjoy WITH your kids. Students in this class will learn basic use and techniques of acrylic paints from brush choices and different strokes, to color mixing. We will end the session with at least one completed canvas painting. All supplies will be provided and students will need to bring to each class.

Minimum of 5 students and maximum of 10.

This 6-week session runs on Thursday afternoons from 5:00-6:00pm at the NC Shakes building in downtown High Point (807 West Ward Avenue, High Point, NC 27260-1526). This session will begin October 13th and run through November 17th.

This class is geared toward ages 12-adult. We will be learning about the parts of our camera and HOW it takes pictures. We will convert students from snapping a photo in automatic to making informed choices of iso, aperture, and shutter speed. Students will also learn basic computer editing skills and finish with a final creative project to hang on the wall. Students will provide their own digital camera. To get full experience of class, cameras should be able to be taken off automatic and used in either manual, aperture priority or shutter priority.

Minimum of 5 students and maximum of 10.
